Motorcycle Touring Gear

Touratech-USA has partnered with MSR (not the MS Racing dirt motorcycle apparel company) and Therm-a-rest to provide camping equipment for motorcycle touring and adventures.

Paul Guillien (GM at Touratech-USA) says: "We put a lot of effort and consideration into our selection of camping essentials for motorcyclists and adventure riders. MSR and Therm-a-rest offers some of the highest quality, lightest, and most durable camping equipment on the market. We've hand-selected items we consider ‘must-haves' for short and long-range motorcycle adventures and backpacking on two wheels."

The partnership appears a natural fit for the premier adventure bike accessories maker to offer camping gear such as lightweight portable stoves and weather-resistant tents to their customers heading out on a journey away from the comfort of their home.

MSR's collection includes solutions for water filtration, transport and showering as well as food preparation and rugged tents. Therm-a-rest mattresses are well reviewed by adventurers, with high scores given for comfortable, compactness, and durability.

The MSR Hubba Hubba HP Tent ($450) is an ultralight and freestanding 2-person tent can be used as a double wall tent or as a freestanding tarp shelter. New technical fabric shaves ounces (it weighs a claimed 3 pounds, 7 ounces), providing more protection and making it compact enough to fit easily into any Touratech pannier. Inside the Therm-a-Rest ProLite Plus Mattress ($100) fits.

Therm-a-Rest claims the ProLite is the "warmest, ultralight, self-inflating mattress" in its line. It is 1.5" thick and weight 1.5 pounds.

The MSR Reactor Stove System ($160) is an advanced stove system that integrates a pot and stove, and is designed to have good wind protection and fast boil time (claimed to boil one quart of water in three minutes). The Reactor Stove System weighs a claimed one pound, 2.2 ounces.
