2011 SportBike Qualifying Results

After being disqualified from Friday's timed Daytona Sportbike session at Infineon Raceway, Calif., for a "non-compliant" fuel issue, Jason DiSalvo (2011 Daytona 200 winner) put his Team Latus Motors racing Ducati 848 on pole for the DSB race.

The Ducati 848 sportbike machines work well at the undulating Infineon circuit, as reflected in three of the Italian machines in the first two rows.

Trailing DiSalvo, aboard the Monster Energy Graves Yamaha, is Josh Herrin, who is just ahead of the second Ducati on the front row, ridden by Jake Holden (Roberson Motorsports).

Rounding out the front Daytona SportBike row is Danny Eslick on the Richie Morris Racing GSX-R600.

Leading the second row is Tommy Aquino (Pat Clark Yamaha) on the R6, followed by the two Vesrah Suzukis of Cory West (6th) and Taylor Knapp (7th), with PJ Jacobsen bringing the third Ducati into the mix up front with a qualifying run that landed him in 8th.

Gridded on the third row following today's qualifying is Cameron Beaubier (Yamaha R6), Dane Westby (M4 Suzuki), Tyler Odom (Honda CBR600RR), and Tyler O'Hara (GP Bike Parts Racing's Yamaha R6).

Daytona SportBike Race 1 kicks off at 2 p.m. (PDT) in Sonoma, where the skies are overcast and rain is looming for tomorrow's race.
