Honda Goldwing Airbag

Click video to watch the industry-first fully integrated rider airbag system on a motorcycle. This new airbag system is available only on the full-featured version of the 2010 Honda Goldwing. The airbag module contains an airbag and inflator that is positioned in front of the rider. The system uses an Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU), that is positioned to the side the module, that analyzes signals from crash sensors to determine whether or not to inflate the airbag. Four (4) crash sensors attached two-per-side on the front forks detect changes in acceleration caused by a frontal impacts. From the moment of a frontal impact recognized it takes only 0.015 second elapses until the airbag inflation is activated.
