I have heard over and over the same thing - notably when last year 15 year old Red Bull Rookies Cup rider Toriano Wilson died when standing up on the track after a (relatively) minor accident, and being struck by another rider. The young riders all seem to think that if Peter and Toriano had just stayed lying down on the track they would be alive today. HOWEVER, every professional I have spoken with has said it is so counter instinctual that it simply isn't done in the moment. This reality disillusions these young children into believing that they would not have suffered the same fate as their fellow competitors. Currently there is no such training (which would not take much to implement). Why aren't there one or two courses per year where the riders lie on the ground while motorcycles are coming at them (narrowly missing) just for the practice of what that feels like???? RIP little Peter
