With the strategic value of motorcycles proved to be an army of war-department relied heavily on the Harley-Davidson, after the U.S. entry into World War I, in fact, the first American to enter Germany the day after it was signed Ceasefire in Harley-Davidson. By the end of World War II, about half of all Harley-Davidson motorcycles made at the end of 1917 the war had gone to the U.S. Army.
