Fast Lapping

Ben Spies proved himself as a rookie in last year's World Superbike motorcycle racing series as he earned himself not only the Championship but also a ride on the 2010 Tech3 Yamaha M1 MotoGP team.

Looking to get into the mindset to challenge Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner, Spies took some time off to explore his 4-wheeled racetrack limits. Spies may have learned a few new tricks while participating in the Miller Motorsports Driving School at the home of the Utah WSBK race.

As you would expect, Spies need little instruction before he was lapping at a very quick pace. Spies drives a both the standard car and the fully race-prepared Mustang 500, which is nearly 400 lbs. lighter and fitted with race rubber.
