2012 RSD VMAX
As if the 2012 VMAX didn't garner enough attention with its unique design, there is also a even more "individual model" - the Yamaha Custom VMAX Hyper Modified Roland Sands.
Roland Sands, a custom bike builder, took the 2012 VMAX and created his own version, which was unveiled at the EICMA 2011 in Milan earlier this month.
Speaking of the design, Roland Sands says: "To us, the stock intake scoops and tail section felt quite bulbous and aesthetically overbearing. SO, with the bodywork, we opted to make it smooth and slightly angular.
"The sharper lines now match with the crisp delivery of the engine. The gas tank was relocated to an aluminum belly tank below the swingarm and front valances were made to continue a smooth flowing feel from front to back. Renthal clip-on bars were added to compliment the new aggressive nature of the bike and an undertail, Stainless Steel, 4-into-1 exhaust was created to ruffle the feathers of any unsuspecting bystander."
Attached above is video of Roland Sands talking about the VMAX Hyper Modified, with footage from the build and EICMA 2011.
