In 2011, the BMW Motorrad Italy Superbike team will compete in the World Superbike Championship with motorcycle racers James Toseland and Ayrton Badovini abroad BMW S 1000 RR machines.

The Italian BMW motorcycle racing team, won the FIM Superstock 2010 Cup with Badovini at the hand of the controls, and now the part will make a debut in the World Superbike with direct factory support from the BMW motorcycle company.

It was also announced that the Italian World SBK Team will be using the same electronics as the Factory BMW WSBK team and will also have use of the same evolution of the Superbike engine.

Serafino Foti (BMW Motorrad Italy Superbike Manager) says: "I am very motivated about getting on track with this very prestigious brand, using the experienced technicians and also the strong riding team."

James Toseland (2011 BMW S 1000 RR) says: "This year I'm finally feeling okay physically and am really motivated by having a competitive bike. Another real boost for me is the chance to work with a group of people who have already conquered the bike world."

Ayrton Badovini (2011 BMW S 1000 RR) says: "I have raced in Superbikes and I know how important both the bike and the team are. I think this season we have a great package and I do not want to miss this opportunity."

The motorcycle racing team from Italy will also be represented in the FIM Superstock Cup, a category which it won in 2010 with Lorenzo Zanetti and Sylvain Barrier.
