DRD X-Treme & Racing

Although Derbi is not a household motorcycle name in America, fans of MotoGP 125 will be familiar with the Spanish marque. New from Derbi is the 2011 Senda DRD X-Treme and Racing 50cc off-road motorcycles.

Derbi tells us that the DRD X-Treme and Racing have been completely revised, both visually and functionally. The graphics, fairings, headlight and saddle are all new for 2011.

The enduro and supermoto versions of the X-Treme has many of the premium features and components from the Racing version, including a high power headlight with integrated race number panel and LED taillight, and a multifunctional digital instrument panel. The X-Treme has 37mm forks with 7.1 inches of travel.

The Derbi Senda DRD Racing is also available in both S and RM versions. The new Racing boasts top quality suspension components at the front and rear, according to Derbi. The 41mm straight forks have 7.7 inches of travel, while the rear shock works with an aluminum swingarm (steel on the X-Treme).

A robust double-cradle high-strength steel is designed to provide the Senda DRD models with outstanding agility and strength. Both the X-Treme and Racing come with oversized discs for braking--a 260mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear for maximum safety in all situations.

The R and SM versions of both the X-Treme and Racing differ in the wheels fitted. The R enduro model is equipped with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel shod with off-road rubber, while the SM supermoto runs on 17-inch street wheels at the front and rear fitted with street tires.

Both models are powered by a liquid-cooled 50 cc 2 stroke engine, giving the DRD X-Treme and Racing what Derbi claims is "class beating performance, with maximum torque already available at low engine speeds."
