2011 AMA Supercross
When the 17 rounds of the 2011 AMA Supercross wrapped up in Las Vegas, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto claimed his debut title.
But it wasn't an easy fight. Heading into that final Vegas round, the title could have either been captured by Villopoto, Two-Two Motorsports Honda's Chad Reed or Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey.
But third or better was all Villopoto needed to claim the 2011 AMA Supercross title, and third is where he finished in Vegas, behind race-winner Reed and Dungey in second.
Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki KXF450) says: "I just have to thank everyone at Kawasaki. The team believed in me through thick and thin. We'll enjoy this. It was a hard-fought battle. I saw James and Kevin go down - the whoops were tough tonight.
"We all had to run the same line and you couldn't avoid it. Luckily I got around (the crash). I wasn't pulling away form Chad, so I just let him by and Ryan (Dungey) was right behind him so then I let him by. I just cruised from there."
The 2011 AMA Supercross Championship will forever be in the history books as one of the tightest battles ever. And with the tight battle came plenty of amazing pics.
Here's a few of the top SX photos from this year, uploaded as wallpaper.
