AMA Arenacross
The 2011/2012 AMA Arenacross schedule was released Tuesday, with series beginning Oct. 29 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, and concluding at the Target Center in Minneapolis Feb. 26.
Todd Jendro (Senior Director, Two-Wheel Operations, Feld Motor Sports) says: "After an epic 2011 AMA Arenacross Series, we are excited to build off of last year's success, which included 26 hours of television coverage on SPEED.
"Last year, the sport witnessed a milestone when Vicki Golden became the first female to qualify for an AMA Arenacross Series main event. She kept the momentum going when she captured the Gold Medal at the X-Games this summer, and we look forward to watching her run up front in 2011-2012."
The 12-stop tour, which showcases the most intimate form of indoor, off-road motorcycle racing, will host four races before January 1 for the first time since 2008. Additionally, the AMA Arenacross Series stops in three new venues, including the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas; SRC Arena in Syracuse, N.Y., and the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Two-time AMA Arenacross Series champion Chad Johnson looks forward to using the 2011-2012 schedule as a road map to a hopeful third AMA Arenacross Series championship.
Chad Johnson says: "I am pumped on the new schedule for the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series, starting at the end of October is awesome. Visiting three totally new venues and with the final round taking place in Minneapolis is a great addition, especially for me because it is only four hours from my home in Wisconsin. I look forward to racing in front of my family and friends."

The 2011-2012 season will build off an amazing 2011 championship saw Babbitt's Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki presented by Maxxis' Tyler Bowers race to a near-perfect season with 12 wins to earn his first Arenacross class championship. In addition, TUF Honda-supported rider Vicki Golden made history as she became the first female in the sport's 27-year history to qualify for an Arenacross Lites class main event, and in doing so finished within the top 10.
Throughout the 2011 season, the AMA Arenacross Series drew over 170,000 fans, averaging 12,200 fans per race.
On the television side, SPEED TV will broadcast 26 hours of AMA Arenacross Series action, with 13 one-hour segments and 13-repeat broadcasts. In addition to the racing action, each broadcast brings fans behind the scenes as well as showcases the current and rising stars of the sport.
