This is significant year for Royal Enfield, as its new Unit Construction Engine becomes the norm for the United States. Three of the 2010 US model line from Royal Enfield motorcycles get the new engine including the Bullet G5 Deluxe, Bullet C5 Classic and a new version of the popular Bullet Military.
The Military edition continues Royal Enfield's long-standing tradition of building mainstream versions of its military contract motorcycles for western consumers. The 2010 Royal Enfield Bullet Military has been redesigned to match the postwar-inspired form factor of the brand's new Bullet C5 model range.
"Royal Enfield's unique new power plant designed to offer the traditional appeal of a classic long-stroke big single engine along with modern technology for clean, reliable and maintenance-free operation," a Royal Enfield spokesman related to us.
"Disguised by the authentic vintage appearance of its ancestors, the newly-enhanced Bullet line now boasts hydraulic lifters, a closed-loop electronic fuel injection system (EFI) and a three-stage catalytic converter."
The 2010 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles will begin rolling out to dealer showrooms in most of the country this month, with model availability expected to follow later this spring for the brand's pending dealers in California, according to Classic Motorworks, the official importer and distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles in the United States.
Kevin Mahoney, president of Classic Motorworks and Royal Enfield USA, notes, "This begins a very notable new model year for Royal Enfield in the United States."
Watch for a test of the Bullet C5 Classic on UltimateMotorCycling.com in the near future. Based on early testing, we can tell you that the Bullet C5 Classic continues to deliver that unmistakable authentic retro riding experience that we have enjoyed on past Royal Enfield motorcycles.
Royal Enfield Motors was founded in Redditch, England in 1901 and has manufactured and headquartered in Chennai, India since 1955. Read More: Royal Enfield Bullet C5 Military Review
