Remember all those articles back in the 70s in magazines like Popular Science that with the help of artist's renderings portended a future of glass domes on Mars, personal servant robots, and electric cars? Decades later we still haven't been to Mars, and I am still doing my own laundry, however, electric motorcycles are actually available.
Enter the TTX02 (great sci-fi moniker) from Mavizen. Mavizen was created by entrepreneur Axhar Hussain, who founded TTXGP, the world's first zero carbon, zero emission motorcycle race that was run last year at the Isle of Man TT along side the traditional Supersport and Superbike classes.
The new 2010 Mavizen TTX02 is based around the winning motorcycle, the Agni X01 (another great sci-fi name) and is the first production vehicle that is fully web enabled with a dedicated IP access and connectivity to the network through an on-board web server and WiFi. Something a MotoGP or Moto2 bike can't yet claim.
The idea is to give racers and teams immediate access to technical developmental information through the open standards of the Internet allowing them to acquire innovations to tailor the performance of their own TTX02. The Mavizen TTX02 utilizes an FIM homologated rolling chassis and is available with three different battery pack options that deliver between 25-50 miles under track conditions, and 50-130 miles under traditional road use.
Top speed is an impressive 130+ mph. The Mavizen TTX02 will be produced in an extremely limited number of just 50 units. You will find the TTX02 motorcycles racing in the international 2010 TTXGP series.
