Michael Jordan Superbike
The 2010 racing season represents some serious changes for Jake Zemke, who is excited to be racing for a brand-new team this year. For a number of years, Zemke has come to the AMA starting grids with one manufacturer and this season marks a drastic departure from that. Additionally, 2008 AMA Formula Xtreme Champion Zemke will be riding for the National Guard arm of the Michael Jordan-supported team and this is a new sponsor for him.
Zemke, his new team and his new sponsor are all looking forward to the challenge and excitement of the upcoming 2010 season.
Considered not only one of the friendliest but also one of the most respected riders in the AMA paddock, Jake Zemke brings his ever-present optimism and tried-and-true talents to the National Guard Jordan Suzuki team for 2010. Slated to be teamed up with Michael Jordan Motorsports veteran Aaron Yates, Zemke and his easy-going nature will complement Yates' laid-back Southern style on the talented two-rider team.
Competitors and teammates alike shouldn't let Zemke's friendly demeanor lull them into a false sense of security, however. The Japanese-American rider captured the 2008 AMA Formula Xtreme Championship with five wins in that class that year. Prior to that, Zemke won the prestigious Daytona 200 race in 2006. Last year, Zemke finished up in sixth place overall in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class. He was on the podium in second place twice and made 14 top-10 appearances.
As Zemke prepares for the upcoming year, he is eager and enthusiastic about the change that the new season brings. Zemke is also looking forward to racing for the renowned Michael Jordan, running the National Guard Jordan Suzuki #54 and living up to his new team's expectations.
