Michael Jordan Superbike
Michael Jordan Motorsports' Aaron Yates could be called the hardest-working man in motorcycle racing. The epitome of the work ethic touted by his team's namesake Michael Jordan, Yates has celebrated championships in an impressive number of classes -- 1000cc Superstock, 600cc Supersport, 750cc Supersport and SuperTeams. Additionally, the Georgian has racked up a remarkable 48 career AMA National victories since turning Pro in 1993.
A four-time AMA National Champion, Aaron Yates brings a combination of aggressive riding style and raw talent to the Michael Jordan Motorsports team. Although in person he somewhat of a soft-spoken, Southern gentleman, Yates is something else altogether on the track. Riding right on the edge, Yates loves nothing more than to slide dirt-track style through the twists and turns of America's racing venues.
Most recently, the Georgia native showed off his often-underestimated talent by winning the last-ever AMA Superstock Championship in 2008. Also that year, Yates won five races in that class, picked up five pole positions and finished no lower than second place in the last five events. Last year, the Superstock class was retired and Yates focused on the AMA Superbike class, where he raced his Jordan Motorsports machine to six podium finishes.
Looking toward the 2010 season, Yates will again focus all of his efforts on the AMA Superbike class. The veteran rider will continue to be the flagship rider for sports icon Michael Jordan and will again run the legendary #23 number plate.
