The US Highland motorcycle company has replace the three members of the executive management team that were sadly killed in a plane crash. The three individuals were Mats Malmberg, President, Chase Bales, Chief Operating Officer, and Damian Riddoch, Chief Financial Officer.
Effective July 13, 2010, new officer appointments include Darin Long, who will serve as Chief Operating Officer, Martin Lind, who will serve as Vice President of Operations and Michael La Lond, who will serve as Interim Chief Financial Officer.
Martin Lind, age 36, has been the Director of Product Development and Research and Development at Highland Group AB, and US Highland, Inc., since 2008. He has also been the Director of Development and Lead Engineer at Highland Group AB since 2006.
Michael La Lond, age 60, is the Director of Management Consulting at Southbridge Advisory Group, a management services and consulting firm in Tulsa.
Dr. Steven A. Moel says: "Even though it is hard to fill Mats, Chase and Damian's shoes, Darin and Martin have been involved with operations, marketing, and business development for our Company from the start, and are driving forces in the company and very knowledgeable of the industry."
"Michael brings significant public company and transition team experience in corporate accounting, and as a financial officer. They were all a natural choice," commented the Chief Executive Officer of US Highland, Inc. "We will continue to grow US Highland into one of the most successful powersports companies in the U.S."
Stepping out of the shadow, US Highland also announced that they will compete in the Super Motocross event at the 16th X-Games in Los Angeles, which takes place July 29, 2010 through August 1, 2010.
Corey Green, a professional motocross racer will be competing at the games with the Company's 450MX motorcycle. In addition, US Highland's line of high-end high-performance motorcycles will be showcased at the event.
Corey Green (US Highland's sponsored rider) says, "The X- games have always been a dream of mine to participate in and just about everyone that rides a dirt bike as well. I'm excited about the chance to get an opportunity to race there." Former US Highland President Mats Malmberg had visions of building a bike to compete in the X-Games, and I am honored to help make that dream come true."
"Every brand of bike puts on a different type of roost and we're gonna show them how the highland roost looks."
US Highlands will also be showcasing their line of motorcycles at the games.
Darin Long says: "The interest we have received from potential dealers, the Press and the motorcycle community has far exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased to be able to demonstrate our U.S. made bikes."
Martin Lind says: "We are very proud of our line-up of high-end motorcycles. Our approach of customizing the bikes to a rider's profile is unique and something the bigger manufacturers don't offer. I am also excited that a professional rider of Corey Green's caliber chose to use our bike for the games."
