Motorcycle Industry News
Effective at the end of this month, Motovan becomes the exclusive distributor for Scorpion motorcycle helmets in Canada. This expansion plan north of the border should help expand Scorpion's reach significantly, but dealers will be the real winners with quicker product deliveries and even more added value benefits.
This strategic alliance will no doubt broaden the distribution of Scorpion products in Canada and get the brand more exposure worldwide, explains Scorpion USA President Rick Miller. Billed as the source for motorcycle parts and accessories, Motovan is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec along with a Western distribution centre in Vancouver B.C., allowing it to service dealers Canada wide. The Motovan.com site even has an en Francais version for its French-speaking dealers.
In the transition period, Scorpion says the company will continue to serve those Canadian dealers who have purchased Scorpion helmets while Motovan gets up to speed and gets their inventory in line, Miller adds.
The company says its commitment to the Canadian dealers remains steadfast and we will help in whatever way necessary to guarantee that there is a steady flow of merchandise during the transition.
Scorpion says Canadian dealers should not even notice a change, as the helmets carried by Motovan will be exactly the same as what are shipping from the U.S. into Canada now. Miller notes that the Scorpion ExoWear line will continue to be exclusively available from Scorpion Sports USA.
Rick Miller says: "We would like to thank our team who got us to where we are today in Canada, says Miller. We are proud of the progress we have made and look forward to further building the brand and continuing to help Canadian dealers in the future with Motovan's help."
"Dealers in the United States will continue to be serviced by Scorpion's network of independent sales reps. Meanwhile Miller says most of Scorpion Sports personnel from Canada will be reassigned to the East Coast of the USA. We are ramping up our East Coast operation and need the sales help."
