MotoGP Catalunya Top Speed 205.7 mph

Once again it was the Honda RC212V and the Ducati GP10 machines that ruled the top speed charts during the seventh round of the 2010 MotoGP race series in Catalunya.
Dani Pedrosa topped all with a blistering 331.0 km/h or 205.7 mph. Race winner Jorge Lorenzo and his Yamaha M1 placed a mild mid-pack on the speed charts over the motorcycle race weekend, once again proving corner speed is everything.
The big news here is the Suzuki GSV-R, piloted by Moto GP rookie Alvaro Bautista that jumped to a year's best third on the top speed charts. Loris Capirossi placed his Suzuki fifth fastest of the weekend during Free Practice 2. This is huge improvement for habitually slow Rizla racer.
The difference between fastest and slowest top speeds recorded, both occurring in FP2, was 12.7 km/h or 7.9 mph, about the speed of a nice jog.
