Yamaha Sales
Reiterating the brand's upbeat sentiments in premium motorcycle segment, India Yamaha Motor has registered a growth of 23.2% in sales during the month of Nov. 2010 as compared to the corresponding period last year.
Yamaha India sold 30,310 motorcycles in Nov. 2010 vs. 24,600 units sold in Nov. 2009. In the domestic Indian markets, the Yamaha sold 22,710 units in Nov. 2010 vs. 17,055 units in the same month last year; a growth of 33.2%. The export figures stood at 7,600 units in Nov. 2010 while 7,545 units were exported in Nov. 2009.
Expressing satifaction over Yamaha's continued strong performance in India, Mr. H. Suzuki (ironic I must say), the new CEO & Managing Director, India Yamaha Motor said, "We are glad that our sales have maintained a consistent growth trend.
"Our premium segment bikes such as FZ series and YZF-R15 are doing very well. Our powerful commuter SZ bike and entry level YBR 125 and YBR 110 bikes also continue to grow at a brisk pace which shows that we have been able to meet the customers' expectations with a strong product portfolio. We expect our strong showing to continue in the coming months."
India Yamaha Motor is refining the motorcycling culture in India by organizing innovative racing events, riding clinics and safe riding programs; the fifth & final round of its Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship is scheduled on Dec. 4 - 5 in Chennai.
Yamaha is also focusing its efforts on strengthening its motorcycle dealer network in tier-2 & tier-3 cities and increasing sub-dealers in rural areas too.
