Husaberg Racing News
Round 6 of the Swedish Enduro Championship was held in Tibro during this past weekend, with Joakim Lnjnuggren taking his 26th straight Swedish Championship victory aboard a Husaberg FE 450.
The weather was good with some clouds and wind and around 22 degrees Celsius, in other words perfect riding conditions.
At the beginning of the race Joakim Ljunggren took the lead after SS1 by 5 seconds overall, but he went down on the second test and lost some time. This gave Anders Eriksson the overall lead after this stage. Joakim worked his way back through the standings during the next few stages and was back in the lead again after SS4.
Joakim Lnjnuggren kept a steady pace throughout the whole event and after the last test he had a total victory margin of 1:24 minutes over Niklas Gustafsson in second and Anders Eriksson in in third.
In his class, the SM2 class, Joakim won by a margin of 3:35 minutes over former teammate Björne Carlsson. By this victory Joakim Ljunggren was crowned Swedish Champion in SM2 with the last round still to be run, after already taking the overall "Swedish Enduro Cup" after round 5 of the championship the weekend before.
Joakim Lnjnuggren says: "I'm really happy to having secured my 5th Swedish title in a row. This race was good for me because the tests were a lot shorter than usual in the Swedish championship, a lot more like in the EWC. Therefore it was a good training for the coming EWC rounds where I really want to fight for a spot on the podium." Joakim commented after receiving his 23rd straight race trophy.
Husaberg Factory Junior rider Calle Sjöö was also back to racing in this round of the Swedish Championship and finished in 3rd position in the JSM2 class.
Both of them are now on their way to Greece for rounds 6 and 7 of the EWC where they are looking on improving their results so far and aiming to finish on the podium in their respective classes.
