Orange County Choppers, the custom motorcycle shop featured on the popular TLC show, American Chopper, announced the launch of a new non-profit organization called The OCC Foundation, Inc.
Through various projects over the years, OCC has put its full weight behind many charitable activities across the country and has helped to raise substantial sums of money for many causes, including those that support our soldiers and their families, those supporting the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions, plus many others. OCC will to continue to do so, but now everything will be directed through this newly created entity.
Orange County Choppers has long recognized the contribution to others through its tribute bikes, such as the renowned Fire Bike and POW-MIA bike and charity builds for organizations such as Make-A-Wish Foundation and Iraq Star.
The OCC Foundation will seek to maximize those efforts by raising money to give to qualified charities. The Foundation plans to raise money through partnerships with some of the best companies in America, deriving donations through product links to goods and services beneficial to OCC's fan base and to motorcycle enthusiasts in general.
Paul Teutul Sr. says: "Everyone who knows me knows that I have big attitude, but what you may not know is that we at OCC have an even bigger heart. Through the OCC Foundation we hope to take our charitable efforts to a whole new level, and of course, we'll continue to need the support of our friends and fans to make this happen."
About Orange County Choppers
In the 1990s, Paul Sr. began building custom motorcycles as a hobby and he was soon on the way to the top with the success of his first bike, "True Blue," which debuted at Daytona Biketoberfest in 1999. From that point on, Paul Sr knew he had something and established Orange County Choppers, Inc. that same year.
Headquartered in Newburgh, NY, Orange County Choppers is regarded as one of the world's premier builders of custom motorcycles. The OCC brand has become one of the most recognizable brands in the world and has produced a wide array of merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, diecasts, assorted novelty items and more.
The OCC shop is featured on American Chopper, a reality television series that chronicles Paul Sr and the OCC crew as they battle impossible deadlines to create outrageous custom choppers. The show debuted in September 2002 on the Discovery Channel and now airs on Discovery Channel's sister station, TLC, on Thursday at 9 p.m. EST.
