In the August 2010 issue of Ultimate MotorCycling, we bring you the first 2011 motorcycle test--the Harley-Davidson Sportster XR1200X--and we take it out on Road America and for an exclusive ride on the surrounding highways and byways with Jess McKinley at the controls.

Half a world away, Simon Lundt takes us out on Australia's legendary Great Ocean Road on a Kawasaki Vulcan.

Back at the track, Tristan Schoenewald and Jess McKinley test the latest and greatest high-performance tires: Bridgestone Battlax BT-016, Dunlop Sportmax Q2, Michelin Power Pure and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa. Many laps at Willow Springs on a Honda CBR600RR reveal a clear favorite.

This is a good year for 1300cc cruiser tourers. Shawn M. Pickett and Jess McKinley hit the open highway on the new Honda Interstate and the updated V Star 1300 Tourer. They come back with the final word on each motorcycle.

An extremely busy guy, McKinley also found himself on a hair-raising ride through the snow in Sequoia National Forest on the new BMW R 12000 GS Adventure. It's quite a story that you will not want to miss.

We test two quite different Italian bikes--the Ducati Superbike 848 (by Arthur Coldwells) and the Moto Guzzi V7 Café Classic (by Mike Schulte). Don Williams headed out for Milestone Ranch MX Park in Riverside, Calif. with racer Reid Davis to test the mold-breaking Yamaha YZ450F motocrosser.

We don't test MX bikes often, but this one has technological advances that street riders will want to know about. Kelly Callan takes the redesigned Kawasaki Versys for a spin and tells us about this mid-size adventure twin.

In the studio we have the Palhegyi Star Stratoliner, with the builder interviewed by David Morris. The European, tire-shredding Brickyard Killer, with its supercharged S&S motor also gets a good once-over.

There are plenty of product reviews, including riding shoes from Sidi, Shift, Piloti and Joe Rocket, plus an in-depth review of the new Arai RX-Q helmet and MyChron Light TG lap timer.
