Purchase Experience

We simply could not wait for Ducati to provide UltimateMotorCycling.com with a new Multistrada 1200 for a long-term test. So, we took matters into my own hands and purchased a 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200. And, we did it as a member of the public, to get a taste of the experience, rather than as a journalist.

Today I ordered the Ducati Multistrada 1200 from Ducati of Newport Beach. My experience started with a welcoming staff that was educated and informative.

Both the salesperson and the owner spent time explaining the details of the new Multistrada 1200. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, technical expertise and the customer-oriented approach.

The dealership also had a demo-bike sitting on the showroom floor, ready for all potential customers. After a complimentary Red Bull and a two-up ride down the coast, I was sold--actually I had long before decided on the Multi after Arthur Coldwells' cover story in the current June/July 2010 issue of Ultimate MotorCycling magazine.

As per our previous post, the new 1200's are wait-listed. Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America had this to say: "Following the national premiere of the Multistrada, reports are flooding in from our dealers that they haven't seen this much enthusiasm and demand for a bike since the launch of our groundbreaking 1098 Superbike."
